| I
am fully competent in the repair of most types of wrist and
pocket watches, having worked on some very specialised and
rare items over the years. My prices are reasonable and my
work is of the highest standard since I do not care to do
the same job twice and for free.
As well as watch repairs I also make many unobtainable parts
such as balance staffs and as you can see, watch cases to
private commission. I also repair jewellery as and adjunct
to the complete repair of costume watches. Recently I have
had some success making enamel dials too.
I restore lots of fine quality modern Swiss watches such as
Rolex, Omega, Patek Philippe, Breitling, Tag Heuer, Jaeger
le Coultre, Cartier, Longines, Lange und Sohn and many other
top quality brands.
At one time I did very specialised watch work for The National
Physical Laboratory (who set the absolute time standard) and
the Atomic Energy Authority.
I am completely familiar with most types of movements, such
as Swiss lever, chronographs, tourbillions, alarms, grand
complications, Daniels’ co-axial and I trained on English
escapements including cylinder, duplex, chronometer, minute
repeater and all that kind of older stuff during my apprenticeship
in Dublin and London.
I am aware of the high standards and quality demanded by clients
with new, classic or vintage watches, and pay particular attention
to the finishing and polishing of watch cases, since this
is usually all the customer sees.
Turnround of watch repairs is generally within two weeks,
subject to availability of parts or special requests.
Watches are guaranteed for twelve months, are regulated in
three positions, water tested where necessary and all replaced
parts returned to you. I also offer dial restoration, specialist
glass making, electroplating and other skills essential to
completing good watch work.
I know from my work both in Switzerland and
here in England, that International Watch Houses demand only
the highest standards of service, workmanship, quality and
reliability.
Yours sincerely,
